Sci-fi City Downtown by JadrienC Sci-fi City Downtown by JadrienC
Another personal sci-fi city concept-matte. I modeled the city and the vehicles in maya, rendered passes in mental ray, and painted/textured in photoshop.

Invisible gravity-based or forcefield railings, maybe?

with selfconscious telepatic indoctrination devices to prevent panic attack of those, who have fear of height? Damn, that was so obvious. How have I noticed them in the first place:|

Or people are just so used to heights that said fear of height is virtually nonexistent. It's possible: just look at people who join the Navy, Army, and Air Force.

that also probable. However not everyone is going to get used to it even if born and raised in such a city(unless they have means to alter psyhological conditioning at will and can remove such fear in its root). A lot of people won't even approach the edge even if it had railings(and I'm one of them:()

No, but living in enclosed spaces hasn't entirely ended claustraphobia.

We still build cities.

Living in large areas hasn't eliminated agoraphobia.

We still have massively open, undeveloped or farm-used land.

personally, I have nothing against leaving a lot of "undeveloped" land "concrete free":\
